The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis

If you weren’t aware, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis has a lot of Christian influence, which I wanted to mention up top here in case that is something that bothers you. It’s decently subtle, but it’s definitely there.

Plot Summary

Four siblings – Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy – are sent to live with a professor by their mother during the air raids of World War 2. While there, they come across a wardrobe that transports them to Narnia, a land stuck in an eternal Winter by the White Witch.

The White Witch finds Edmund alone when he enters and spells some Turkish Delight to make him always crave more of it. If he turns all of his family in, then he will be given more Turkish Delight by the White Witch. (Honestly, this part had me wondering if Turkish Delight was all that good or not, and since I still haven’t found somewhere to try it, the jury is still out on that.)

That is about all the plot I can give you without spoilers, but it’s definitely a fun and quick read!

The Chronicles of Nania Movie

Allison and I also covered the first Chronicles of Narnia movie, which I personally think would make a fun Christmas movie.
